Buyer Tips:
Renting vs. Owning: There are two big reasons why buying is a national passion.
The first is that, historically, a house has been a good long-term investment. Unlike stocks/bonds, a home is tangible. Not only that you can actually touch it, but you also enjoy it while investing in it.
The second attraction is having a place can truly call your own. It’s your fix it up as you see fit. In other words, the pride of ownership: you put an end to lugging your stuff from apartment to apartment.
To decide if buying a home is for you, you need to look at some hard numbers and some softer ones like lifestyle factors.
House Hunting:
It is helpful to narrow down the home-finding process by asking yourself what is it you want in a home. If you can determine exactly what you want and need, why you want and need those specific features, then you’re halfway to getting there.
Figure out which among those features you want in a home that you may be without it if the price of home becomes a concern in the home search. It is a great idea to make a list of what you want and need to have in a home and put a number next to each one of them accordingly.
It would be a sound idea to focus on the location and general quality of the property you are considering buying. Price an be worked out in the negotiation with the seller, given the right price ballpark. A good quality home in a good location can be tailored to your specific needs and wants later after the purchase, called home improvement projects.
The home selection process will go on much faster and a lot of fun!
